Know the true cost of owning your car, mile by mile.

Your fuel app tracks gas. We track everything that actually costs you — fuel, insurance, repairs, and depreciation — and turn it into one honest number: your real dollars per mile.

The wrong question

Your fuel app answers the wrong question.

A fuel logger gives you a tidy MPG chart. Useful — but it measures the cheapest part of owning a car. The bill that actually empties your account is fuel plus insurance, repairs, and the resale value bleeding out every month.

Gas only
Gas only — looks cheap
True cost
True cost — most of the tank is hidden

You already suspect it: the car costs more than the gas you pump into it. CarTally logs every receipt you'd never keep a spreadsheet for, amortizes the fixed costs over the miles you actually drive, and shows you the one figure that matters — your real cost per mile.

What we're building

How CarTally will work.

Four instruments, one honest readout. Here's what's on the bench right now.

What we're building

Log everything

Fill-ups, repairs, insurance premiums, loan payments, registration, tires. If it costs you money to keep the car, it goes in the log — fast enough that you'll actually do it.

What we're building

The true $/mile

Every fixed and variable cost amortized over the miles you actually drive. One number, updated as you log — the figure your fuel app never gave you.

What we're building

Depreciation, modeled

The biggest cost is the one you never see: resale value bleeding out month after month. We model it in, so the sticker isn't the whole story.

What we're building

Multi-vehicle compare

Two cars, a truck and the commuter, the side-gig vehicle — see which one actually costs less to run per mile, and whether the miles are paying for themselves.

Planned pricing — not live yet

Honest about the price, too.

Nothing is charged today. This is what we plan to launch — founding waitlist members will hear the final price before anything is ever billed.

Straight answers

Questions, answered plainly.

When does it launch?
We're building it now and don't have a fixed date — we'd rather ship it right than ship it loud. Waitlist members get early access first and an email well before anything goes public.
What do I get for signing up?
Founding-member early access, a say in what we build, and the final price before anything is ever charged. No spam — we email when there's something real to show.
Will the free fuel log stay free?
Yes. Unlimited fuel and expense logging, your full fill-up history, and basic MPG stay free — for good. Plus is for the deeper true-cost analysis on top.
How is cost-per-mile actually calculated?
Every cost you log — variable (fuel, repairs, tires) and fixed (insurance, payments, registration) — gets amortized over the miles you actually drive in that period. total cost ÷ miles driven = $/mile. Add depreciation and you get the real number.
Can I track more than one vehicle?
Yes — that's a core part of the plan. Per-vehicle logs and a side-by-side cost-per-mile comparison, so you can see which car is genuinely cheaper to run.
Where does depreciation data come from?
We model resale-value decline from your vehicle's year, make, model, and mileage against market depreciation curves, and let you override with a real quote or sale price. It's an estimate — and we'll always show our work, not just a number.
